Breeze Lounge- Not so breezy after all
This has been one celebration loaded November. It always is with birthday, anniversary all falling in the same month. With the hangover from Oliver Bar and Bistro and Rabdiwala still being there we were in two minds to go ahead with our anniversary dinner plans or cancel or postpone it. Final vote was in favor of the dinner plan on the same day. I came across Breeze lounge on Zomato, it was a rooftop restaurant with lake view and was highly rated on Zomato.
Never knew that the Breeze lounge was in the building next to my office. In fact there were a couple of many other such places like Rude Lounge, Mehmaan Nawaazi. Looking at the crowd I could say even those must be good to visit places.
The first thing you would notice about Breeze is that the way to the reception is quite steep as the building is situated on a hill. The place was a nice dimly lit place in white and blue. The color combination was really soothing and classy. I really loved the ambiance in that sense. What was not going with the theme was the music. The loud Punjabi music was the mood killer. To top it, there was no breeze probably because it was surrounded by tall buildings and there was no lake view.
Going against my principles I gathered courage to order some mocktails. We ordered a drink “Random” it was basically a mix of lychee and guava juices. It was nice but solidified my belief that never order drinks at such expensive restaurants you never get the bang for your buck. The service was very slow and the waiters appeared disinterested as if they were not paid properly and lacked the motivation to make the guests feel welcomed. For starters we ordered baked potato basket stuffed with mushroom and cheese. This was the worst thing of the evening. It was chewy, difficult to eat with fork/knife/spoon. If at all you were able to cut it some kind of juice was oozing out and there were hardly any mushrooms except for the last piece which seems to have all the mushroom. I am not sure if this particular item was the wrong choice but it ruined the perception about the place. With some apprehension we ordered Risotto for main course. Risotto was just average and my husband actually found it a tad dry. We actually wanted to order something else but dropped the idea after the Risotto. And decided to go someplace else for the dessert. Overall Breeze was not an experience that would make me recommend the place except for to enjoy your drinks and the ambiance.
