An Ode to New Age Moms

A young girl goes from being wife to being a would be mom,
She knows it and she knows what it takes,
For she had it all planned,
For her it was not arranged, for her it was not under any societal pressure,
She plans her pregnancy, she learns what is expected,
Things might work, might not but she knows how to take control..
She goes by the facts and not by the myths,
She is smart and she is strong,
She knows what is good and she knows what is not...
She knows how much she can take in and for rest how to manage it...
Once she holds her little one a mother is born,
She is still the same young girl who has grown stronger...
She gets on the path of raising another strong, smart and independent being,
She stumbles, she breaks, she cries yet she keeps going and keeps trying..
She wants to give it all and she wants to have it all..
She wins some battles she loses some...
She keeps trying for she is a mom.
She still remembers, the young girl she once was...
The dreams she used to have when she was alone..
She wonders can she still do it and do it all...
She cannot give up for she is not who she was...
She is much more and knows can be much more...
She takes on those dreams and starts a new journey for she is never whole..
She plans it, she manages it, her journey has taught her all
She knows it and she knows it all.
